A license or ID being obtained for the first time must be done directly through the Office of Motor Vehicles. We are not able to do first-time licenses, drivers tests, or first-time IDs. Come to The Notary Shoppe and skip the line on ID renewal! You can always renew your Louisiana Driver’s License at any of our locations – bring the following documents and a smile – we will take a new Louisiana Driver’s License photo.
What You Need to Know:
- Every 6 years, your driver’s license expires on your birthday.
- Bring your old license or I.D. and proof of address in order to renew.
- Proof of address can include a utility bill, financial statement, paystub, Healthcare invoice or bill and many other pieces of documentation.
- Importantly your proof of address must match your intended ID and must be shown on the document in order to be considered am appropriate proof of address.
- If you have misplaced your old license or I.D., a social security number is needed to retrieve your records.

How To Get A Real ID in Louisiana?
Real ID is an enhanced form of identification for residents of Louisiana. Starting in May 2025, all Louisiana residents will need to present a Louisiana REAL ID license or state ID in order to access commercial airline flights, federal buildings, or enter nuclear power plants. Why is this important? While most of us are not entering a nuclear power plant regularly, most of us do take an airplane flight from time to time. Beginning in May 2025 you must have a REAL ID in order to board your commercial flight. The Notary Shoppe is able to renew your REAL ID licenses and State IDs in Louisiana.
